NetComposites Wins at 2007 eBusiness Awards

NetComposites has scooped another major independent award, their third in 12 months, for its unique eBusiness activities and strategy in the worldwide composites industry.

The awards dinner held at the East Midlands Conference Centre on Thursday 22nd February saw NetComposites take the prize for the Best Use of eBusiness. The award follows quickly on from NetComposites’ recognition as partner finalist in the JEC awards for e-comp, an online software tool for composites developed by CRIC, Aimplas, NetComposites, IZR Solutions, James Quinn Associates and Molder Disnova. NetComposites was one of just six small businesses recognised at last year’s Shell Springboard environmental business awards, for its work in developing new products from self-reinforced plastics.

NetComposites’ core business is in creating knowledge for the composites community, through research, consultancy and technology transfer, and the entire strategy of the business revolves around the complete integration of their online and offline activities.

The web site that has evolved from this strategy (www.netcomposites.com) now contains around 12000 pages of free information on composite materials, ranging from weekly news stories and general articles on composites through to very specific technical advice - it is therefore exceptionally well-linked and indexed and typically attracts over 200,000 user sessions each month.
